CAS--Cordless Alliance System
In the past, different power tool manufacturers have own battery and charger designs, so it is hard to compatible with different brands.
And the famous tool brand Metabo has created the CAS in order to reduce this issue.
The Cordless Alliance System (CAS) is a collaborative platform created by several power tool manufacturers. It allows different brands to develop cordless power tools that use a common battery platform, enabling compatibility and interchangeability between the tools of different manufacturers.
CAS was established to address the issue of incompatible battery systems among various power tool brands. In the past, users often had to purchase multiple battery chargers and batteries to use tools from different manufacturers. This not only increased costs but also created unnecessary waste.
With CAS, participating brands agree on a standardized battery design and communication protocol, allowing their cordless tools to work with the same batteries and chargers. This system provides convenience to users who can now interchange batteries between different tools, regardless of the brand.
By adopting CAS, manufacturers aim to offer a wider range of cordless tools while reducing duplication and waste associated with incompatible battery systems. This collaborative approach benefits both the manufacturers and the end-users, who can expand their tool collections without being tied to a single brand's ecosystem.
As a supplier of portable led work lights, we should keep the focus on the marketing need, like some of our current or potential clients are looking for the 18V or 20V battery pack work lights. And we are also designing this type with a detachable battery pack also used together with the diverse power tools.
For example, below is our designed 9x3W 18V Tool Battery Work Light.
